Confirmation Classes
As a school we have been given permission by the Bishop of Durham to prepare girls for confirmation.
Confirmation classes are open to all girls in Year 9 and above. Mrs Jacklin and Mrs Templeman prepare the girls through a two-part course. The first part begins after the October half term and addresses central Christian beliefs and any girl may join these sessions if she is curious about the Christian faith.
The second part beings in the new year, when the girls have made their decision about whether to go ahead with confirmation. This part addresses Christian living and what it means to be Anglican.
During the course there are also opportunities for the girls to visit local church services, which have a youth flavour, and to take part in the regular weekends away that Mrs Jacklin runs for different Christian Union groups.
