Parents and Friends
Hello and welcome to the Parents and Friends of Durham High School. If you are new to us, please let me tell you briefly who we are and what we do…
Parents of all current and former pupils are automatically members of the society and other friends and family are very welcome.
We provide a forum for parents to meet both on a social basis and to help organise fund raising activities which provide, what we like to think of as the “icing on the cake”.
In the past we have provided funding for new curtaining in the School Hall, Playground equipment for Junior House, the large flat screen television in the main school concourse to name just a few.
Committee members meet termly to agree a programme of social and fundraising activities throughout the year, smaller sub-committies are formed to organise specific activites:- The 3 school discos – Funday – The Christmas Fayre – The Summer Ball etc.
In addition to the committee members, we also have a list of willing helpers whom we can call upon for occasional assistance. The willing helpers are parents whom, due to work or family commitments, feel they are unable to give regular help, but very much wish to be involved within school activities.
