Charity Involvement
The girls in Junior House are encouraged to become aware of issues relating to the wider world through assemblies, the PSHE curriculum and by direct involvement in raising funds for charity.
During the current year, the girls have raised funds for a local hospice, contributed towards the NSPCC’s ‘Full Stop’ campaign and raised money for Comic Relief’s Red Nose day appeal.
The school has a strong connection with the Durham LINK project, which sends practical and financial aid to the AIDS torn country of Lesotho in southern Africa. Junior House girls raise money through a variety of events, large and small, many of which are devised and organised by the girls themselves.
