Cricket Club
Kwik Cricket is well established as an extra curricular activity for years 5 and 6.
Each spring and summer, Kwik Cricket club is run after school and attracts a large turnout. The club is run by school staff with additional input provided by occasional visits from professional coaches.
Basic skills in bowling, batting and fielding are taught indoors each spring. As the weather improves, the focus moves on to games played outdoors, giving the girls chance to put their skills into practice and improve them further. While we do strive to play the game at a high standard, the main emphasis is on enjoyment of cricket as a team sport.
The school has achieved success in local primary school Kwik Cricket festivals over recent years and older girls, who have been part of the Junior House Kwik Cricket club, have gone on to win regional competitions at senior level too. We even have some girls who have gone on to earn a place in the Durham County girls’ squad.
