The House System
Junior House and Senior House both operate a house system. Girls are allocated to one of the four houses (Booth, Heath, Neville and Tempest) when they first join the school. They stay with that house throughout their time at DHS.
The house system is used to promote competition, teamwork and leadership. Inter house events are held throughout the year. These include:
- a swimming gala and a sports day, in which every girl takes part;
- netball, rounders and hockey matches;
- a choir competition, in which every girl takes part;
- a drama competition;
- a chess competition;
- a quiz, in which every girl takes part.
