Week beginning 19th March 2012

On Tuesday two U11 Netball teams played against Church High School at home. This was the last netball match of the season for the girls and they finished with some excellent results.

The U11A team won 8-0 and the man of the match was Hannah Nicol.
The U11B team won 6-2 and the man of the match was Holly Hylton

On Wednesday three U9 Netball teams played Teesside High at home. All of year 4 had the opportunity to play and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Team 1 won 9-0 Team 2 won 7-0 Team 3 won 1-0 Congratulations to all girls who have played this week.

Week beginning 12th March 2012

On Tuesday two U9 netball teams played Choristers School away.

The U9A team played a Choristers U10 team and rose to the challenge playing well but lost 5-7.
The U9B team played Choristers U9A team and lost 0-7.

On Wednesday the U11 Netball team entered the Mowden Hall invitation tournament.

They played exceptionally well and reached the semi finals of the competition.The Semi final was an excellent game of a very high standard and they were eventually beaten by Mowden Hall who went on to win the final.

Years 5 - 8 Annual School Swimming Gala

The Annual School Swimming Gala took place on Wednesday 29th February at Freemans Quay. It was the first time we had held the gala at this venue and also the first time we had held a joint Junior, Senior Gala with girls from years 5-8 taking part. As usual the event proved very competitive and extremely noisy. Swimmers of all abilities took part and all girls should be congratulated for their performances. An excellent standard of performance was seen throughout the morning with all girls competing for their houses. The final house results were as follows:

Year 5 & 6

Joint 1st – Neville and Tempest with 32 points.
Joint 3rd – Booth and Heath with 13points.

Year 7 & 8

1st – Neville with 38 points.
2nd – Heath with 24 points.
3rd – Tempest with 19 points.
4th – Booth with 15 points.

Cluster Hocky Tournament Runners Up

On Tuesday the U11 Hockey Team played in the Newcastle Cluster Hockey Tournament held at Maiden Castle. The weather was unusually warm for February and for playing hockey, breaking Durham weather records! The standard of hockey was very high from all 8 schools that took part, including Central High, Mowden Hall, R.G.S, Dame Allans, Kings, N.P.S, and Choristers. The girls played very well in their section of the tournament winning against Dame Allans 1-0, and against NPS 2-0 and drawing with RGS 0-0. They then qualified for the semi-final against Mowden Hall where they drew 0-0. The match then went to penalty stokes and they won 2-0 to qualify for the final. In the final they again met RGS and another very fast high quality game took place. the score was 0-0 with 10 seconds to go and RGS slipped a goal in past the keeper. The girls finished in a well deserved runners up position. Gaining their third hockey medal of the season.

The U10 team lost 5-7 and the man of the match was Sienna Thompson.
The U11 team won 14-1 and the man of the match was Keerthana Babu and Hannah Nicol.

U10 Netball Tournament Winners

On Thursday the U10 netball team played in an invitation tournament held at Durham School. They played an excellent standard of netball producing thefollowing outstanding results.

Against Cundall Manor they won 6-1.
Against Choristers School they won 6-0.
Against Red house they won 4-1.
Against Bow they won 7-0.
Against Terrington Hall they won 4-0.
Against Polam Hall they won 9-0.

Congratulations to the whole team who remained unbeaten throughout the tournament to become the overall tournament winners. The man of the match was Imogen Stout and Jessica Walton.

Week beginning 20th February 2012

On Wednesday the U10 and U11 hockey teams travelled to Mowden Hall in Northumberland. This proved to be a completely new experience for the girls as the matches were played on grass not astro turf which makes the game very different. The girls rose to the occasion and tried very hard to adapt their game.

The U10 team lost 0-1 and the man of the match was Heidi Rochester
The U11 team lost 0-3 and the man of the match was Ella Bowen

Week beginning 23rd January 2012

Yet another busy week for the girls in junior house and another exciting one for the year 4's as they played their first ever hockey match.

On Monday the U9 hockey team and two U11 hockey team played Teesside High at Meadowfield.

The U9 team won 1-0
The U11A team lost 2-1
The U11B team won 2-0

On Tuesday the U10 and U11 Hockey teams travelled to RGS in Newcastle. A fantastic standard of hockey was shown by both schools and the games were very close.

The U10 team lost 2-3
The U11 team lost 0-1

Week beginning 16th January 2012

It has been another very busy week of fixtures in Junior House despite the match against RGS being cancelled on Tuesday due to frozen pitches.

On Monday the U9's experienced their first ever Netball matches against Barnard Castle. All of year 4 took part in three matches. The girls were very excited and performed very well, thoroughly enjoying the experience.

Team 1 won 3 - 2
Team 2 won 3 - 0
Team 3 lost 0 - 2

On Wednesday the U11 A & B Netball teams played Dame Allans School at home.

The A team won 8-2 and the man of the match was Lucy Garman.
The B team won 7-0 and the man of the match was Laura Selvarajah and Aimee Dobson.

IN2 HOCKEY MINI HOCKEY COUNTY FINAL CHAMPIONS

On Thursday the year 6 hockey team took part in the In2 hockey county hockey championships.
They drew with St Michaels A 0-0
They won against Choristers 1-0
They won against Sunderland High 2-0
They won against St Michaels B 3-0
These fantastic results mean they qualify for the regional finals in Leeds in March
The man of the tournament was Ella Bowen but all girls performed brilliantly to produce these excellent results.

Week beginning 9th January 2012

The Junior House teams were straight back into action this week after the long Christmas break.

On Wednesday four netball teams from year 5 and 6 played Newcastle Royal Grammar School at home. The girls were eager to perform again and produced some excellent netball.

The U10A team won 8-0 and the man of the match was Imogen Stout.
The U10 B team drew 1-1 and the man of the match was Sienna Thompson.
The U11A team won 10-5 and the man of the match was Keerthana Babu.
The U11B team won 4-1 and the man of the match was Ellie Greenhow.

On Thursday the U10 and U11 Hockey teams played Choristers School at Meadowfield.

The U10 team won 1-0 and the man of the match was Olivia Shaw.
