Key Stage 2 - Year 6
Our main aim in Year 6 is to promote the girls’ independence and to give them additional responsibilities in preparation for Senior House.
Form captains and games captains are chosen by the staff. Year 6 buddies, school council officers and infant monitors are elected by the girls.
In the first term we have an integrated curriculum based around ‘The People’s War’ and we visit the DLI museum. In the second term we study ‘Rivers’ and the girls choose a world river to research for a project. In term three we study Ancient Greece and visit an outward bound centre in Weardale for a week as well as rehearsing and performing our end of year play.
A busy but fun final year in Junior House.
