In school Mr Woodward is the lead tutor for both the Junior Sports Leaders and Sports Leaders level 2 awards which are aimed to develop leadership skills through physical activity.  The courses cover such things as leadership qualities, communication skills, Health and Safety, First Aid, Child Protection and both courses culminate in a final assessment where the young leaders must deliver a physical activity session.  Additionally children are encouraged to develop leadership skills at an early age and younger pupils have the opportunity to complete a Skipping and playground leaders award at school.

If your children attend after school clubs you may well see the Sports Leaders taking activity session for the younger girls.  All the Sports Leaders who do this have undergone a rigorous, minimum of 30 hours, tutoring with Mr Woodward.  All have been assessed as being competent to lead after a period of mentoring and are fully insured to lead through Sports Leaders UK.
