Design & Technology at Key Stage 3
In year 7 the girls start with an introduction to safe working practice within the workshop and learn how to use the machines. This is then reinforced through a practical assignment where they develop design skills and make a three dimensional picture from wood.
In year 8 the girls extend their technology skills through making an electronic game which is housed in their own container with the graphics produced using computed aided design.
The final year of key stage 3 is Product design where the girls work principally with plastics and are familiarised with industrial production methods.
