  • to develop their familiarity with appropriate mathematical concepts, principles, methods and vocabulary, and to develop their understanding of mathematics in its widest context to see how it relates to themselves outside school.
  • to develop a range of desirable personal qualities such as politeness, perseverance, concern for others, initiative and independence.
  • to have equal access to mathematics and to experience success in their work.
  • to develop transferable skills and informed opinions about their mathematics and to be able to support them by reasonable arguments.
  • to achieve to their full potential on external examinations, and should they wish, to continue with the study of Mathematics university.
