YEAR 10 GCSE: AQA MUSIC SYLLABUS
During Year 10 the GCSE course focuses on:
- Developing general musicianship skills and knowledge.
- Increasing skill and technique through composition assignments in a range of styles.
- Exploring the musical styles and techniques of the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods and also of various non-western musical styles.
YEAR 11 GCSE: AQA MUSIC SYLLABUS
During Year 11 the GCSE course focuses on:
- Developing general musicianship skills and knowledge in preparation for the listening examination
- Composing two pieces for GCSE assessment
- Preparing and recording a solo and an ensemble performance.
