Captain Noah and His Floating Zoo
For this year’s primary outreach production, 60 year five girls from DHS and 6 other local primary schools worked together for 2 days of intensive rehearsals in our wonderful performing arts studio, to prepare a full production of the musical ‘Captain Noah and his floating zoo’, which we performed at Durham’s Gala Theatre on Monday 2 February. The parts of God and Noah were played by performing arts scholars from our year 8 and 9. Highlights of the show included the fabulous rainstorm featuring the entire cast whipping up a storm using percussion instruments and vocal sound effects, and the wonderful ark which was built in no more than two minutes and into which the whole cast went two by two as the waters rose.

Chamber Choir Evensong in Durham Cathedral
Chamber choir sang their annual choral Evensong in the Cathedral on Monday 9 March. Their beautiful singing and the calm ambience of the cathedral as darkness fell combined to create a serene and uplifting experience for the singers and congregation. We will sing Evensong again on Monday 8 March 2010.
