Our PE curriculum is varied ensuring our pupils develop a broad repertoire of skills and knowledge.  Although we do not follow the National Curriculum it is used as a guideline to produce our schemes of work.

Year 7 pupils are allocated 3 hours for Physical Education each week.  This is delivered through a double lesson in which girls participate in gymnastics, swimming and dance on a rotation each half term.  During their PE afternoon, netball, hockey, cricket, athletics, rounders and tennis are taught.  For their double lesson girls participate in their own form group and during their PE afternoon, girls have the opportunity to work with girls from the whole year group.

Pupils in years, 8 and 9 are allocated 2 hours and 20 minutes in two double lessons.  Girls are taught in mixed groups allowing them to work with the whole year group.  Girls in Year 8 and 9 participate in netball, hockey, fitness, swimming, dance, badminton, volleyball, cricket, rounders, tennis and athletics.

In Year 10 and 11, pupils are offered an options programme, in which they can choose a pathway in which to follow and develop a range of important skills that will be vital in  later life.  These opportunities include sports leadership in which girls develop their confidence in organizing events and leading groups of young people in sporting activities.  Other options include health and fitness, golf, dance, rock climbing and a range of individual and team sports.

The Sixth Form students also value their sports afternoon in which they are also given a choice regarding the activities they pursue.  Activities such as rowing, dance, squash, trampolining, netball, golf, badminton and gym training are very popular.
