How Do You Spend Your School Holidays?
During the school holidays Mr Woodward runs activity camps for girls from the Durham City area. The first camps ran in May 2007, and these were used to ask the girls attending what they would like to do on the activity camps during the summer. From their comments there were a number of activities arranged and the girls attending summer camp participated in a variety of activities including archery, climbing, outdoor adventure as well as more main stream sports such as Athletics, rounders, hockey, football and rugby. Additionally the junior children completed a multi sport challenge on 1 afternoon of there week.

Detailed in the links below are the weekly activities being run by the Community Sports Coach at Durham High School for Girls.
We work on a ratio of a maximum of 1 coach for every 15 children and in many case there will be 2 coaches (1 of whom will be female) for every 15 participants. This ensures that the attendees get the most from the camp activities.
All staff working on the camps are appropriately qualified and insured and hold full Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) checks carried out by the school. There will also be at least 1 member of staff who is First Aid trained with each group. Each activity is Risk Assessed either by the school or the external provider and all Risk Assessments are available to view.
If you wish to make a booking please E-mail dhsfgactivitybookings@hotmail.co.uk with the name, age of your child/children, the dates you wish to book them on and a contact address. You will receive an E-Mail by return confirming whether you have a place. At this point you should access this link “Event Registration Form.” Please download this, complete it and return it to the address on the form accompanied by full payment (Cheques only please made payable to “Durham High School for Girls”).
