Welcome to the Sixth Form
In the Sixth Form the girls begin to see life from a different perspective; they are based in a purpose built block with their own common room and diner. All students also undertake important leadership roles within the school in areas such as charities, Houses and of course the Head and Deputy Head Girls. The Sixth Form is led by a leadership team which comprises of the Head Girl, Deputy Head Girl and House Captains. Other girls take on subject Prefect duties or choose to be a Form Prefect and spend time with younger students.
In addition to their academic studies chosen from a very wide range of subjects, girls participate in a demanding enrichment programme which includes courses in Information Technology, Critical Thinking, Current Affairs, Finance Management and Survival Cookery. There is also extensive provision for extra-curricular activities ranging from Music, Young Enterprise and debating, to the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award.
The Sixth Form benefit hugely from the use of the superb ICT and library facilities in the Hurworth Building as they develop their skills in independent learning. Girls are encouraged to spend their study periods using the research facilities.
