We cannot believe it has a week already since pupils took to the stage for School of Rock at the Gala Theatre. All four wonderful performances were testament to the hard work and dedication of Mrs Lonsdale, Mrs Lawrence-Wills and all the staff and parent helpers. We must also give a huge amount credit to the two casts and crew, who deserve the recognition for their fabulous efforts on stage. We have uploaded a gallery of photos of both casts to our Facebook page.
Good luck to the U19 Netball team!

The girls made it having topped both the County and Regional competitions, without losing a single match.

Activities will include games, group drills, individual player development and plenty of match play. The emphasis will be on fun and player game understanding. The sessions will run from 9:30am – 3:30pm on Monday 3 April and Tuesday 4 April. For more information and to book, please email [email protected].
Easter Egg Collection
This half term, we are collecting Easter Eggs for Feeding Families, which is a charity based in North East England that offers support, hope and security to those experiencing food poverty. Donations do not have to extravagant but will make a huge difference to those children in the region that would not otherwise receive a gift this Easter. Please bring any eggs (nut free) into school by Monday 27 March and drop them into Main Reception. As we are also collecting donations for the Parents and Friends quiz, please make sure you let Reception know who your donation is for.
Confirmations
The Bishop of Durham will be carrying out confirmations for the Church of England parish in which Durham High School is located on Saturday 29 April 2023 at 6pm. Confirmation is a special service in which a person confirms the promises made when they were baptised. For a young person who was baptised or christened as a child, these promises were made by their parents and godparents. Confirmation is an opportunity for a young people to make these promises for themselves and to commit themselves to following Jesus Christ.
The Bishop of Durham will lay hands on the young person’s head and ask God’s Holy Spirit to give them the strength to live God’s way for the rest of their lives. For many people, the first time they receive Holy Communion will be following confirmation. Generally, anyone over 10 years of age who can answer responsibly for themselves is ready for confirmation. If you would like to be confirmed or if you have any questions or would like further information, please contact [email protected].
