Come and play at one of our Outdoor Tots sessions

Four members of Year 12 took part in the final of the ICAEW BASE Business and Accountancy competition on Wednesday 16 June.

BASE is the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wale’s free national business and accounting competition for 16-17 year olds across the UK. It is an exciting experience where students take part in team challenges; giving them an understanding of what it’s like to be an ICAEW Chartered Accountant, whilst developing their key employability skills.

By getting to the final, the girls competed against over 5000 students and 550 other schools across the country and were one of just 24 teams to make it to the latter stages.

Although they performed well, scoring 6/7 questions correctly, the Sixth Formers didn’t receive any prizes but they all benefitted from this fantastic experience and gained an insight to the work of Accountants.

We would like to extend our thanks to McManus Hall Accountants in Gateshead, who hosted us for the afternoon of the competition.

Mrs Robinson, Head of Business and Careers, sends her congratulations to the students for their success and commends their hard work, initiative and teamwork shown throughout the competition.
