Durham High is staffed by highly qualified, forward-looking professionals who enjoy working in our friendly, stimulating community. Staff have a genuine interest in the well-being of our pupils and in their achievements and aspirations. Our ethos is based on Christian values and we welcome those of all faiths or of none.
While we pride ourselves on our excellent academic record, a strong pastoral system ensures that pupils at Durham High are happy and feel supported by staff who care for them. New members of staff can be guaranteed to receive a warm welcome and very quickly settle in to become part of the DHS family.
Durham High School is located in a quiet woodland setting with easy access to the city with its mainline railway station, as well as to the A1 and the A19.
This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Classicist to join us on a temporary basis. The person appointed will need to be able to teach Latin and Classical Civilisation to all levels, and ideally offer some Classical Greek.
Subject Teachers are responsible through the Head of Department to the Head. Their role in implementing School policies and conveying the ethos of the School and its aims and values is crucial in ensuring the success and effectiveness of the whole School.
