The Awards provide free places in the Sixth Form to external candidates who would not otherwise be able to afford the tuition fees. This is a fantastic opportunity for able young people who would benefit from the unique ethos of Durham High School.
Suitable candidates will be academically very able, usually with predictions of grades 8 or 9 at GCSE and will be prepared to contribute to the life of the High School eg in music, drama, sport, or in a leadership/prefect capacity.
Once completed application forms have been received, candidates will be invited to attend an interview and assessment which will be arranged at a time to suit you. Conditional offers of Awards, will be confirmed after GCSE results.
Prospective candidates and parents are very welcome to arrange a visit to meet staff and Sixth Formers. This will allow you to see what we can offer and help you decide whether the High School is for you.
