The enthusiastic lunch queue is testimony to the popularity of school lunches at DHS. The provision is excellent, with healthy options and a discreet attention to special dietary requirements. Many Sixth Formers who have a dispensation to make or bring their own food, still choose the dining room where they can enjoy a chat with friends over lunch.
Our three-week menu is adjusted each term, with attention paid to seasonal produce. Infants learn how to make healthy choices and older girls can choose a different meal every day from the hot counter, or opt for the salad bar which also offers soup, sandwiches, pasta or jacket potatoes. For dessert girls can choose fresh fruit, or indulge in a sweet treat. Packed lunches are provided for girls who have extra-curricular activities throughout the lunch hour.
The student voice is genuinely important to us, and both Junior and Senior Houses hold termly meetings with girls to discuss catering.
Parents are always very welcome to try our lunches at any time.
